Take French. It’s a language with real personality. Expressive, personal, individual. Modern French business writing is shorter and more conversational than it was even a decade ago. But AI tends to produce French that sounds academic. Polished in a way that nobody actually writes for a software product in 2026. The grammar is perfect. The sentences are structured. And it reads like a university textbook, not like something that’s trying to convert a user.

Linguists at the University of Arizona documented what they call an ‘increasingly wide gap’ between written and spoken French.
